On Tuesday 9 March, CHS hosted the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Yemen, H.E., Dr. Ahmad Awad bin Mubarak, in a roundtable moderated by Professor Sultan Barakat and attended by various Ambassadors around Doha, such as the Ambassador of Belgium, H.E., Dr. Bart De Groof, the Ambassador of Greece, H.E. Mrs. Heleni Michalopoulou, and the Ambassador of Iraq, Omar Al Barzanji.

During the roundtable, Minister Mubarak discussed the effort that the international community have played to ensure a resolution to the conflict as well as the legitimacy the government holds through the Riyad Agreement that produced a joint government. To further highlight the government's legitimacy, he expressed that the government remains a defensive rather than offensive actor.

Additionally, H.E. pointed out the moral and ethical responsibility of each actor in the conflict, especially given the Houthis rejection of proposals to ceasefires and mismanagement of the Hudaida Port which they control, and the lack of oversight by the international community war crimes carried out by the Houthis.
