On Thursday, 8 May 2025, the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies held its fifth annual advisory board meeting at its office in Doha, Qatar. The meeting was attended by Dr Azmi Bishara, General Director of the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies, along with the head of the Advisory Board H.E. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misnad, Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Other members of the board that attended include H.E. Lolwah Al Khater, the Minister of State for International Cooperation; H.E. Dr Hend Al Muftah, Qatar's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva; H.E. Khalifa Al Kuwari, President of the General Tax Authority; Dr Mohamed Al Maadheed, President of the Metabolic and Inflammation Center and General Director of Naufar Center in Qatar; Dr Ahmed Al Muraikhi, Special Advisor to the United Nations Secretary-General on Public-Private Partnerships and Islamic Social Finance; Dr Ghanem Al-Najjar, Member of the Board of Directors of the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies; Dr Marwan Kabalan, Director of the Political Studies Unit at the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies; Dr Mohammed Al-Masri, Executive Director of the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies; and Dr Ghassan Elkahlout, Director of the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies. 

During the meeting, the Center's most prominent achievements in 2024 were reviewed, including events, activities, projects, research outputs, and published books. CHS Director, Dr. Ghassan Elkahlout, delivered a detailed presentation of the Center's 2025 work plan. He highlighted the Center's role as a leading academic center in the fields of conflict mediation, humanitarian action, and post-conflict recovery and emphasized its values-based commitment to achieving positive social impact at the regional and global level. The Advisory Board members commended the Center's achievements and its effective contribution to supporting peacemaking and the humanitarian sector. The meeting concluded with a constructive exchange of recommendations and decisions approved by the members.
