The Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies (CHS) is organizing a lecture on "Challenges and Opportunities for the Democratic Transition in Sudan". The lecture will be delivered by Mr. Khalid Omer Yousif, former minister of cabinet affairs, Member of the Sudanese Congress Party political bureau, and member of FFC executive office. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Ghassan Elkahlout, Director of CHS.

The lecture will focus on the challenges facing the Sudanese transitional government, including its institutional constraints and internal divisions, in the context of economic stagnation and external interference. In addition, the lecture will discuss the opportunities arising from international and regional support towards democratisation in Sudan.

The event will take place in auditorium 2 - Cultural Foundation - Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, on Sunday 31 July 2022 at 17:30 Doha Time (GMT+3). Simultaneous interpretation in Arabic and English will be available.
