The annual meeting of donors and others concerned with the Syrian humanitarian crisis takes place this week. For years, the European Union along with the United Nations have convened this meeting in support of humanitarian efforts in Syria and in neighboring countries in which hundreds of thousands of Syrians have sought of asylum. This year the UN would like to see donors provide ten billion dollars and has urged them not to withdraw support in a chronic humanitarian crisis now entering its eleventh year.
