The Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies (CHS) and the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA) have initiated a series of workshops in Strategy Building within the charitable and humanitarian sector in the State of Qatar. This strategy is the first of its kind in the country's humanitarian field. The Center has contributed to creating a platform that convenes active members in the national humanitarian field through the provision of human resources and regional experts.

These workshops are considered as part of the joint agreement signed between CHS and RACA in supporting the Qatari humanitarian sector since 2021. This sector is a priority in the Center's plans and goals, particularly the focus on developing knowledge networks that have a constructive impact at the local and national levels. Thus, this agreement works to provide the necessary support for the development of humanitarian work in Qatar. Furthermore, the CHS works with the key parties concerned with humanitarian work to exchange knowledge and build common ground by collaboratively developing the sector.

The series of Strategy Building workshops comes at a time when Qatari charitable work is undergoing many transformations, particularly in view of the current regional and global restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic. The sector is also in need of guided assistance on enhancing coordination, providing funding effectively, and promoting the practice of scientific research in humanitarian action. In addition, it is necessary to combine theory and practice to develop informed policies that would contribute to the promotion of best practices and policies related to charitable, humanitarian, and developmental work.
