The Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies (CHS), in joint collaboration with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), are hosting Mr. Indrika Ratwatte, the Director of UNHCR Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific, as part of a roundtable discussion titled "The Humanitarian Situation in Afghanistan and the Rohingya Refugee Crisis". This event will take place on Sunday, the 5th of February 2023, at 4:00 p.m. (Doha time) in CHS.

The roundtable will discuss the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan and its repercussions on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region by providing an overview of the recent situation inside the country and its impact on neighboring regions. It will be focusing on the humanitarian needs and humanitarian response programs implemented by the UNHCR. Moreover, the session will shed a light on the Rohingya refugee crisis in Bangladesh, Myanmar, and neighboring countries. It will discuss the deterioration of their recent humanitarian situation in the past five years, by providing updates on current operations and their gaps, in addition to the role the different donors and partners are playing.
