Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies and the Conflict Management and Humanitarian Action program at Doha Institute are hosting Dr Lenore G. Martin, Professor in the Department of Political Science and International Studies, at Emmanuel College in Boston, and an Associate the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs and the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Harvard University, in an online Seminar on "The Drivers of Turkish Foreign Policy in the Middle East Under the AKP: Conflicts and Cooperation". The event will be held on Tuesday 14 March 2023, at 16:00 (Doha Time). Dr. Ibrahim Khatib, Assistant Professor in the Conflict Management and Humanitarian Action program at Doha Institute will moderate the session.

Since coming to power on November 2002 the Justice and Development Party (Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi, AKP) the relationship between Ankara and the states and non-state actors in the Middle East have faced challenges and changes. The seminar will examine the roots of Turkey's relations in the Middle East and the domestic, international and ideological drivers of Turkey's regional policies. To that end, it will analyze Turkey's conflicts and alignments in the area and ask how they may be addressed.

The Seminar will be via Zoom and live-streamed on Social Media platforms. Interpretation between Arabic and English will be available.
