The Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies (CHS) is organizing a public symposium, titled "Sudan: The Pathway to Stability, Peace, and Democratic Transition." The event will be held on Saturday 2nd September 2023 at 6:00pm in the Main Auditorium of the Cultural Foundation at the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies (CHS).

Nearly five months on from the outbreak of the conflict in Sudan, the country stands on the precipice of the unknown. As such, and amidst the ever-changing dynamics of the conflict, discussion of 'what comes next?' becomes an increasingly challenging task. Given this reality, the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies (CHS) is organising a public symposium on the existing and possible pathways towards stability, peace, and a transition to democracy in Sudan.

The centre will host members of the Executive Board of the Forces of Freedom and Change: Eng Omer Eldigair – Chairman of the Sudanese Congress Party; Mr Babiker Faisal – Head of the Executive Office of the Unionist Alliance; and Mr Elwathig Elberir – Secretary-General of the National Umma Party. The discussion will be moderated by Dr Ghassan ElKahlout, the Director of the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies (CHS).

Simultaneous interpretation between English and Arabic will be available.
