In Partnership with Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, CHS is co-organizing an online seminar on "Religion, Conflicts and Peace: Reality, Relations, and Transformations". The seminar will be delivered by Dr. Mohammed Abu-Nimer, Full Professor of International Peace and Conflict Resolution. It will be moderated by Dr. Ibrahim Khatib, Assistant Professor in Conflict Management and Humanitarian Action program at Doha Institute for Graduate Studies.

The online event will discuss the relationship between religious identities as a source of violence and conflict. It will examine ways in which religious identity is manipulated to justify violence and exclusion. It will also examine the constructive role that religious identities and agencies can play in peacebuilding. Cases and examples form Arab region as well as other global identity-based conflicts (Sri Lanka, Mindanao Philippines, Nigeria, etc.).

The seminar will be held via Zoom, on 18 October 2022, at 15:00 Doha Time.  Livestream in Arabic on the Center's Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube will be available.
