The Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies (CHS), in partnership with the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS), is organising a public Symposium titled “Rebuilding Syria's Health System" on Monday 14 Septemeber 2026, at 14:00 (Doha time) in the Seminar Room, second floor, Building F1.
The symposium is being held amid the ongoing transformations in Syria's health sector and will examine the transition from emergency humanitarian response to sustainable recovery and the rebuilding of health institutions. It aims to highlight the priorities for the recovery of Syria's health system, explore practical mechanisms for drawing on the expertise and skills of Syrians abroad, and strengthen their contribution to the development and long-term sustainability of the health sector.
The discussion will feature Dr. Mazen Kewara, Regional Director for the Middle East at the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS); Dr. Hosam Aldin Allaham Partnerships Advisor at the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS); Dr. Zuhair Qarrat, Director of International Cooperation at the Syrian Ministry of Health; and Dr. Duraid Mouayad Al-Rahmoun, Director of the Directorate of Health Professions at the Syrian Ministry of Health.
