Building on our extensive work on Afghanistan, the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies (CHS) introduces our new Afghanistan Research and Policy Initiative (ARPI). This project is designed to significantly broaden the scope of our efforts and delve deeply into critical issues that demand further academic exploration and policy attention. CHS aim is to foster a comprehensive understanding of Afghanistan's complex dynamics and contribute to informed, evidence-based solutions.
ARPI is a strategic project that aims to foster dialogue, research, knowledge production, and policy recommendations on Afghanistan and its regional dynamics. By leveraging the Center's extensive expertise and Qatar's pivotal role in mediation, this initiative will serve as a global platform for research and constructive dialogue centered on Afghanistan.
CHS marks the beginning of this initiative by its first closed workshop entitled: "Governance Ecosystem and Institutions in Afghanistan: Analysing Dynamics, Capacities, and Challenges", which will take place on 16-17 September 2024, in Doha, Qatar. This workshop will bring together a diverse array of participants, including Afghan and international scholars, experts, practitioners, civil society, and policymakers. The workshop will focus on analyzing Afghanistan's current governance structure, identifying practical pathways for building stability and enhancing the capacities of national institutions.
