​Dr. Seán Deely is a former Deputy Director of the Postwar Reconstruction and Development Unit in the Department of Politics at the University of York (UK). He has served in senior strategic planning and management roles for the UN and the International Red Cross for over 30 years designing and leading post-conflict needs assessments, dialogue, armed group engagement and community peacebuilding programs in Somalia, Libya, Jordan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Bosnia, Nepal and Myanmar. He received his PhD in post-war reconstruction and development studies from the University of York.
