He currently serves as Head of the Humanitarian Action and Refugee Studies Programme at the Centre for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies (CHS), where he is also Managing Editor of the Journal of Peacebuilding & Development (JPD) and leads the organisation of the Annual Conflict and Humanitarian Studies Conference.
Dr. Mohammed Alsousi holds a PhD in Sustainable Environment from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. He has over nineteen years of combined field and headquarters experience across the Middle East, North Africa, and Eastern Europe, working at the intersection of humanitarian action, conflict, development, and peacebuilding, with a strong focus on capacity building within local societies.
He has held senior roles in Palestine, Iraq, Jordan, Yemen, Syria, and Lebanon, and has managed programmes remotely in Libya, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Kosovo, and Ukraine. Dr. Alsousi has also participated in numerous high-level international forums, including the World Economic Forum in Jordan and engagements at the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva.
