​​Dr Mohammed Alsousi is a Senior Fellow, Head of the Humanitarian Action and Refugee Studies Programme, and Research Projects Manager at the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies (CHS), Doha. He is also Managing Editor of the Journal of Peacebuilding & Development, published by SAGE. His research focuses on humanitarian governance and access, civilian protection, humanitarian diplomacy, peacebuilding, and forced displacement, particularly in Palestine, Syria, Sudan, Libya and Afghanistan. He has published in international academic journals, including Disasters, Third World Quarterly, The Journal of North African Studies and the Journal of Peacebuilding & Development. At CHS, he leads research projects, develops partnerships, and convenes international conferences, expert workshops and policy dialogues. He has also contributed to academic initiatives on humanitarian diplomacy and mediation, including the Gulf Research Meeting at Cambridge in 2026.

Dr Alsousi brings more than 18 years of humanitarian field and senior management experience across the Middle East, North Africa and Eastern Europe.  He holds a PhD from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom.​
