Kareem Elgibali serves as a Research Associate at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies. He is a peacebuilding expert whose work focuses on post-conflict reconstruction and early recovery, as well as resolving conflict through mediation, dialogue, and inclusive political processes. He has ten years of combined implementation and policy experience across the Middle East and West Africa, working at the intersection of mediation, humanitarian action, and reconstruction, with a particular focus on the design and facilitation of pluralistic peacebuilding processes. In his past work with the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs, he facilitated mediation and good governance initiatives in Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso, Senegal, and Côte d'Ivoire.
Prior to joining CHS, he supported health-sector reconstruction in Iraq, addressing institutional fragility and service delivery in a post-war environment, and advanced mediation processes between refugee and host communities in Lebanon and Jordan, strengthening social cohesion in displacement-affected settings.
He received a master's degree in Conflict Management and Humanitarian Action from the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies and has published in peer-reviewed journals and policy platforms on peacebuilding and post-conflict recovery.
