The Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies has released a new report titled “The Gaza Strip Amidst Genocide and Displacement: Mapping Two Years of Systematic Warfare." The report documents the devastating consequences that have afflicted the Gaza Strip after two consecutive years of Israeli aggression since October 2023, which the United Nations has described as an “unprecedented humanitarian crisis."

The report provides a comprehensive and in-depth assessment of the humanitarian situation tracing its impact across vital sectors including infrastructure, health, education, economy, and social systems. It highlights the policy of systematic starvation that has turned food, water, and medicine into weapons of war against more than two million Palestinians.

Building on last year's publication, “A Year of Israeli Aggression on the Gaza Strip," the new report consolidates and analyzes trends in UN and humanitarian agency data spanning the two years of aggression. According to its findings, more than (68,122) civilians have been killed including (18,500) children and nearly (200,000) injured, amid the near-total collapse of Gaza's health system and the shutdown of most hospitals. The report further notes that approximately (1.9 million) people have been forcibly displaced, the majority of whom now live in overcrowded temporary shelters.

The report also documents extensive destruction across all facets of life in Gaza, with around (85) percent of the infrastructure damaged or destroyed and overall losses estimated at (49) billion USD. Vital infrastructure such as electricity, water, roads, telecommunications, and education facilities has been severely damaged, leaving relief efforts far beyond the capacity of local and humanitarian institutions.

According to the report, these acts constitute grave violations of international humanitarian law, amounting to war crimes and crimes against humanity. It concludes that the ongoing aggression represents not merely a military operation, but a comprehensive project of genocide aimed at erasing Palestinian existence in its social, economic, and cultural dimensions.

In its conclusion, the report calls on the international community to take urgent and effective action to halt the ongoing violations, ensure accountability, and provide sustained support for reconstruction and recovery efforts laying the foundations for a just and dignified future for the Palestinians in Gaza.
