As influence in an increasingly multipolar world order shifts to the South and the East, Qatar is among a number of Middle Powers facilitating critical conflict transformation processes. Leveraging its pivotal mediation role within the Arab and Muslim world, Qatar extends its influence to broader international contexts, showcasing its commitment to peacebuilding and diplomacy. This role is mandated in the Permanent Constitution of the State of Qatar and has become a key pillar of its foreign policy.
CHS established the Qatar Mediation Forum to strengthen global mediation efforts. The forum aims to provide a conducive and neutral environment where leading mediators, diplomats, policymakers, and academics can explore current challenges in mediation, exchange perspectives, address sensitive issues, and develop practical strategies to enhance mediation efforts within an evolving global landscape. The forum also contributes to developing Qatar's mediation strategy by strengthening its capacities in conflict mediation and humanitarian diplomacy across the Arab and Islamic world.
