The Need to Democratize IHL: Accountability and Monitoring Mechanisms

​​​​​The Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies (CHS), in collaboration with the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) and the Diakonia IHL Center, is organizing a public symposium titled " The Need to Democratize IHL: Accountability and Monitoring Mechanisms" The symposium will take place on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 10:30 AM Doha time, at Building F1 – second floor – Seminar Room – at the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies.

The event seeks to​ advance the​ effectiveness of international humanitarian law by expanding participation in compliance efforts and reinforcing the mechanisms that safeguard its implementation—especially in the face of increasingly complex, protracted, and multifaceted armed conflicts. ​
