Biography

Martin Griffiths has fifty years of experience in humanitarian affairs and conflict mediation. He founded the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue in Geneva in 1999, now the world's leading private diplomacy institution. He served as the UN Special Envoy for Yemen from 2018 to 2021 and as Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator from 2021 to 2024. Griffiths has worked as a frontline aid worker and led humanitarian negotiations, including the Black Sea Grain Initiative. He is renowned for global advocacy on humanitarian funding and rights, addressing crises affecting hundreds of millions worldwide.
