The Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies, the Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Qatar, and the Berghof Foundation are co-organising a training programme on “Negotiation and Mediation". The three-day programme runs from 21 to 23 September 2025 and is held at the Diplomatic Institute Headquarters, in Doha, Qatar.
The training features expert-led sessions and interactive discussions, introducing and explaining crucial concepts of negotiation and mediation to participants from various institutions in Qatar, laying the theoretical and practical foundation for (peace) mediation practices. The training aims to deepen participants' understanding of key principles of interest-based negotiation and mediation, whilst also equipping them with practical conflict analysis skills through interactive exercises.
During this training, participants will enhance their capacity to design effective mediation processes and identify appropriate entry points for intervention. The three-day program also focuses on improving their ability to understand and navigate complex negotiation and mediation processes, fostering greater confidence and competence. Additionally, the training aims to increase awareness of trainees' personal conflict management styles and insights, thereby enriching their overall facilitation skills.
