Biography


Mona Hedaya is a Research Fellow at the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies (CHS). She received her master's degree in Conflict Management and Humanitarian Action, awarded with distinction, from the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies. Prior to joining CHS, she worked at the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies (ACRPS), between 2011 and 2019.

Mona's research focuses on forced displacement, humanitarian policies and practices, and peacebuilding, with a special emphasis on the Arab world. Her work has been published by a number of leading journals and research centers in the Arab region and internationally, including Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies and Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO). In 2019, She published a book entitled "Refugee Women: Adaptation of Syrian Refugee Breadwinners in Istanbul (2011-2018)".

More broadly, her research interests extend to conflict analysis, mediation, and post-conflict reconstruction. As a research fellow at CHS, she contributed to various research and peacebuilding initiatives and projects. Besides, she has participated in numerous conferences and workshops on topics of conflict, politics, social movements, and humanitarian action.
